About Me
I have been photographing my surroundings for most of my life. My first camera was a toy camera that took real pictures. My first digital camera made me realize I could take pictures of things no one else could see unless through my photographs. It was my first year of college, taking an elective photography class that I realized I wanted a career in photography. My favorite location to photograph is the outdoors; that may be because as a child I was in the hospital a lot and unable to go outside. Through the assignments in the photography program at Carteret Community College I realize I am proficient at many types of photography. I enjoy portraits, sports, wildlife, nature and documenting any live event and even designing commercial ads.
“It’s not just about the photograph, it’s the outdoor experience”
That is a quote from Doug Gardner on his show Wild Photo Adventures. Those words stuck in my head, I feel every event should be about the experience. From that new baby bird to the graduate and beyond; I want to share with everyone what they can’t see firsthand. My desire is for anyone who views my work, to feel as if they were there; to experience what it was like to attend the event or be out enjoying nature.
